For jobs over $6,000, this may require multiple daily transactions and could become inconvenient. We’re happy to work with you, but we recommend considering check or cash for higher amounts to avoid delays.

Payment Terms

-All material is guaranteed to be as specified. All work is to be completed in a workmanlike manner
according to standard practices. This proposal is for the installation of thermal insulation only, unless
otherwise specified. Any additional steps or products that are required to satisfy the local building code will be
done at the expense of the general contractor or building owner. Any alteration or deviation from the above
specifications involving extra costs will be executed only upon written orders and will become an extra
charge over and above the estimate. All agreements are contingent upon strikes, accidents, or delays beyond
our control. Owner to carry fire, tornado, and other necessary insurance. Our workers are fully covered by
Workmen’s Compensation Insurance.

-If the seller deems it advisable to institute legal proceedings to enforce collection, the Buyer shall pay the expense of such proceedings including such reasonable council fees as may be fixed by the court of Santa Cruz County having jurisdiction thereof. Past due items are subject to a 2% service charge Per Month (24% PER ANNUM). Contractors are required by law to be licensed by the Contractors State License Board. Quote Validity and Revisions:

This quote is valid for 14 days. After this period, prices may be subject to change based on various factors. If adjustments are necessary, a revised quote will be provided. Please review and finalize your decision within this timeframe to secure current pricing.

Notice of 30-Day Price Guarantee

Upon accepting our quote. Please note that the quoted price is valid for 30 days from the date of acceptance.

Due to frequent fluctuations in material costs, any work scheduled or commenced after the 30-day period may be subject to a revised quote if there have been significant changes in pricing for materials.

Deposit upon acceptance Agreement:

For jobs exceeding $25,000, a 10% deposit is required upon acceptance of the quote. This deposit secures your project in our schedule and allows us to procure necessary materials.

The deposit is non-refundable in the event of cancellation, as it covers initial costs, materials, and scheduling commitments. We kindly ask that you carefully consider this agreement before proceeding.

Requirements after Acceptance

When our insulation services are accepted, the customer must abide by the following requirements:

Access to the Property:

Ensure clear and safe access to the work areas, including attics, crawl spaces, and exterior walls.

Preparation of Work Areas:

Remove any personal items, furniture, or obstructions from the areas to be insulated.
Ensure pets and children are kept away from the work areas during installation.

– Area must also be cleared of any personnel during installation and possibly for up to 24 hours after completion.

Utility Management:

Area must be empty and clear of all personal or work related items if items are present a rescheduling fee of $500.00 will be applied.

Provide access to electrical outlets if needed for our equipment.
Notify us of any known issues with electrical wiring, plumbing, or structural components in the areas to be insulated.

Pre-Installation Inspection:

Allow our team to conduct a pre-installation inspection to assess the condition of the existing insulation and structures.

Communication:

Provide a primary point of contact for any questions or concerns that may arise during the installation process.
Inform us promptly of any schedule changes or special considerations that may affect the installation timeline.
Health and Safety Compliance:

Follow any safety guidelines provided by our team to ensure a safe working environment for both our installers and the residents.

Notify us of any health or safety concerns related to the insulation materials or installation process.

Post-Installation Access:

Allow our team to conduct a post-installation inspection to ensure that the insulation has been installed correctly and to address any final adjustments or clean-up.

Payment Terms:

Adhere to the agreed-upon payment schedule and terms as outlined in the service contract.
Permit and Regulation Compliance:

Ensure that all necessary permits and approvals are obtained prior to the start of the insulation work, if applicable.

Important Notice: Noise Levels During Insulation Installation

We would like to inform you that the insulation installation process—including:

– Spray foam insulation (utilizes a reactor and generator)
– Insulation removal (which uses a vacuum)
– Blown-in insulation (which uses machinery to blow insulation)

The use of equipment from the services listed above can be quite loud. This noise may be noticeable in the neighborhood during installation hours.

Please inform neighbors or nearby residents who may be affected by the higher noise levels in advance so they can prepare for potential noise disruptions.

We strive to complete our work efficiently and minimize disruptions, but please be aware that the noise level may cause some inconvenience during the installation period. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to improve your property.

Important Notice: Overspray Precautions

Please be aware that spray foam insulation can produce overspray, which may adhere to nearby surfaces, including vehicles, windows, and other exposed areas. To prevent any damage, we highly recommend that all vehicles, furniture, and personal items be removed or adequately covered prior to the installation process.

For any items that cannot be fully removed, we will cover them with protective plastic sheeting and ensure they are fully protected during the spray foam installation. Overspray can be difficult to remove once cured, so taking these precautions is essential. We appreciate your cooperation and will take every step to safeguard your property.

Crawlspace Clearance Requirement

To proceed with the installation of insulation—particularly spray foam insulation—a minimum of 18 inches of vertical clearance in the crawlspace is required. This clearance is essential to ensure safe access, proper application, and compliance with installation standards.

Our site walks are a great way to confirm this requirement in advance. Alternatively, by accepting the quote or confirming via phone call, the client acknowledges that this minimum clearance exists and accepts responsibility for ensuring adequate access prior to installation.

Work cannot be scheduled or performed unless this minimum clearance is confirmed.

Crawlspace Clearance Requirement Continued

The crawlspace must be completely cleared of all obstacles prior to the scheduled work. This includes, but is not limited to: debris, stored items, insulation not scheduled for removal, furniture, and any materials that may block access or interfere with our work.

If the area is not adequately cleared, the job may be rescheduled or canceled at our discretion.

By accepting this quote, you acknowledge and agree to this requirement.

Attic Clearance Requirement

To proceed with the installation of attic insulation—particularly spray foam insulation—a minimum of 3 feet of vertical clearance in the attic is required. This clearance is necessary to ensure safe access for installers, proper application of materials, and compliance with industry standards.

The area must also be fully clear of any obstacles, debris, stored items, or anything that may prevent us from safely and effectively performing our work.

We recommend scheduling a site walk to confirm that this requirement is met. Alternatively, by accepting the quote or confirming via phone call, the client acknowledges that this minimum clearance exists and accepts responsibility for ensuring adequate access with no obstacles prior to installation.

Work cannot be scheduled or performed until this clearance is confirmed.

HM Insulation Inc.
Effective Date: Immediately Upon Completion of Installation

1. Coverage
HM Insulation Inc. provides this warranty for all insulation services performed and materials installed at the Customer’s Address. This warranty ensures:

– 5 years of coverage for workmanship quality.
– 10 years of coverage for material performance, as specified by the manufacturer.

2. Workmanship Warranty
We guarantee that our installation will be free of defects resulting from improper workmanship for a period of 5 years from the date of installation completion.

3. Material Warranty
The materials used in the installation are warranted to perform as specified by the manufacturer for a period of 10 years. Any defects resulting from the materials themselves may be subject to the manufacturer’s warranty terms.

4. Limitations
This warranty does not cover:

– Damage caused by external forces such as weather, pests, fire, flooding, or other acts of nature.
– Modifications, repairs, or installations performed by anyone other than HM Insulation Inc.
– Normal wear and tear or aging of materials.
– Conditions resulting from failure to maintain or improper use of the property.

5. Claim Process
To submit a warranty claim:

6. Resolution
If a valid claim is submitted:

– For material issues within 10 years, HM Insulation Inc. will facilitate claims with the material manufacturer and assist with resolution.

7. Transferability
This warranty IS transferable to new property owners within the warranty time frames.

8. Disclaimer
This warranty is in place of all other warranties, expressed or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

Staged Services & Payment Terms (If Applicable)

If this quote includes multiple services or phases that are scheduled on different dates, payment will be due separately for each portion of work as it is completed. For applicable jobs:

• Each scheduled service or phase will be invoiced upon its completion.
• Payment is required for each completed portion before proceeding to the next scheduled phase.
• Any delays in payment may result in rescheduling of future work, based on availability.

This applies only to jobs with separate services or phases scheduled on different dates.
It does not apply to single-phase jobs that span multiple days of continuous work already scheduled together.

We understand that schedules can change. If you need to reschedule or cancel your accepted insulation service, please contact us as early as possible so we can adjust accordingly and reallocate resources efficiently.

Once insulation services have been accepted and scheduled, all rescheduling or cancellation requests must be handled in a timely manner. This ensures we can coordinate our crew, materials, and equipment effectively for all our clients.

A cancellation fee will apply to any last-minute cancellations or cancellations made after insulation materials have been purchased. Due to the nature of insulation products — including expiration and storage limitations — and our scheduling commitments, this fee is necessary to cover costs incurred. The fee will be based on the cost of materials purchased and any associated expenses.

For jobs exceeding $25,000, cancellations will be strictly enforced. In such cases, a cancellation fee of 20% of the total contract value, or the full cost of materials purchased (whichever is greater), will apply.
